  • Here's how to create holiday-themed articles to engage your audience on Instagram.

    1. Add holiday photos

    Instead of using plain color images or clichés for your Instagram posts, use images that remind people of the holidays. Although each article does not have to be spent on vacation, throw it away from time to time.

    For example, you can find a picture of a Christmas tree, candles, gifts, lights, a menorah, a dreidel or a kinara. Do not look for a good image or do not add a sticker like Microsoft, find a beautiful image on Unsplash.

    Then you can add text or just post the photo and add a caption!

    2. Add graphics

    Canva, in my opinion, is particularly good for that. They have many graphics available and just about everything you type in Canva's search bar will have a graph. With graphics, you can play with the way you place them, the colors you use, the transparency and the sizes.

    You can add several Christmas trees and place them randomly to give a reason for your publication. You can also place a large menorah in the middle of your solid color background, make it transparent, and add text on or around it.

    Sometimes it takes a little time to do something you are happy with, but in the end, once you've seen how many tastes and comments you receive, the work is worth it.

    3. Use holiday-related accessories

    You do not always need to edit your images to make them holiday themed. If you are ready to spend money, you can also buy accessories. Michaels, for example, sells mini-items like Christmas trees, snowmen and fathers.

    You can go into any store right now and find different types of decoration that you can use as an accessory (for your own images and for product images). For example, you can hang lights behind you, install balloons to celebrate the new year or hold a cup in front of a Christmas tree.

    Spend a day of photography! Buy props and spend the day playing with them. Take enough pictures to use for the whole month.

    4. Make holiday related products

    Not everyone will be able to do this, but if you sell products (stickers, posters, t-shirts, mugs, anything that is handmade), you can create holiday-themed products.

    If you make one of the products that I named above, you can draw a dreidel for your mug, draw a reindeer for your t-shirt or crochet a Santa doll. When you take pictures of your products, you can add other accessories around them. However, you want to make sure that the accessory is not your main purpose by accident.

    For example, if you have a cup with a dreidel on it, you can take a picture of the cup in front of a menorah. Just be sure not to pay too much attention to the menorah. You want people to look at your cups.

    5. Share holiday songs

    We only talked about Instagram posts (like the pictures), but do not forget your other options, such as Instagram and Instagram live stories.

    On Instagram stories, you have the opportunity to share music. To do this, use the 'music' option. The music option is at the bottom of the story, where the other options are "live" and "superzoom".

    When you click on it, you will find songs that others use, or you can search for one. A song in vogue at the moment is "It's the beginning that looks a lot like Christmas" by Michael Bublé. What you do is click on the song, then you have the option to choose which part of the song you want to use.

    From there, you click on the button with the music note on it, and the song is added to your story in the form of a sticker. You then continue, as usual, to record a story and then download it. The song will play behind your story.

    6. Go live and share stories

    We have talked time and again about the importance of sharing behind the scenes. Although you do not want to live during the holidays (unless your family and friends do not bother you), you can go beforehand.

    You can play live or record stories while watching the lights, pick a Christmas tree, light a candle, cook and everything you can imagine! Your followers will love to be included.
