Instagram shopping has been around for a few years now and it has been proven that it boosts the traffic and sales of thousands of brands. If you're new to Instagram or just want to start promoting your products as buyable posts, we'll describe in detail all the buying features and how they work.
At the bottom we will share a Facebook Business link that will explain exactly how to setup Instagram if you are interested.
Shopping by post
When there is a "Shoppable" item on Instagram, a shopping cart icon appears in the upper right corner. When you click on the message, an option is available in the lower left corner: "Press to display the products".
On the picture itself, white circles appear on the products sold, as you can see in the photo above.
After a few moments, both options disappear, but if you click again on the image, you will see more details about the products, also displayed in the image. You will see the name of the product and its price.
When these tag-type options appear, you can exploit them. From there you go to a page where you can see the product individually and its price. Under the image, there is an option that says "View on the website" and you are directly directed to the product on the website when you click on it.
If you scroll down the screen, you will see the following:
1. Articles with this article
These are other Instagram posts from the user including the article you are viewing.
2. Presented together
Articles with which the product is presented with on Instagram.
3. More user name messages & # 39;
Here you will only see purchaseable items.
4. More from this shop
In this section, you will only see items sold by this brand, instead of full publications on Instagram.
Shopping through stories
In July 2018, Instagram introduced the beta test in Instagram articles, but in September, this feature was released to the public, or rather to all brands whose Instagram is licensed for the purchase feature. Shopping through Instagram stories works the same way as shopping at the post office.
For Instagram stories, you can label products with stickers, which we all know is what makes Instagram stories so fun and unique.
According to the Instagram Business page, "Businesses … will now be able to add a product sticker to any story with a customizable text color. When a customer taps on a product sticker, he is redirected to the same product details page that he sees when he taps on a purchase item in the wire. . "
At the exit of this feature, Shopify said that even if Instagram stories disappeared after 24 hours, they "offer a great opportunity to creatively present your products. With over 400 million daily active users, the potential for engagement is great. "
Although you can shop on Instagram, you can not buy it directly. As we said, you can post items and be directed to the brand's website, but you can not buy from the app. However, this month, Instagram has released the payment feature.
The new payment feature
Instagram's slogan for the new payment option, which was released on March 19, 2019, is "Buy the brand without leaving Instagram".
You can now buy directly from the app instead of being directed to the website or shop shop. Once this feature is deployed in all stores (discussed below), it is likely to have an even greater impact on traffic and sales than buyable publications.
How to use this feature:
From there, you will be directed to a confirmation page stating: "An e-mail confirming your order (shop) will be sent to (protected e-mail)". Instagram will also send you notifications when your order has been shipped and when it has been delivered. .
Instagram Info Center – in this article, they announced the new payment feature (you can also watch the video in which they did it here) – wrote: "The payment on Instagram is currently in closed beta for businesses and available to US citizens. . The brands below will start going out today and in the weeks to come – and others will be coming soon!

Additional Shopping Features:
1. Instagram has a shopping channel available on the Explore page
When you click on this option, you will only see shoppable publications. The publications you see are based on other products you saw in the same store and on related items that you might like based on what you saw.
2. You can register the products themselves
The "Save" icon allows you to save Instagram images. (The save icon is the small bookmark in the lower right corner of your feed publications.) When clicked, they are saved in a default folder called "collections".
However, when you click on the product details, as we talked about, of an item that can be purchased, it also appears a "Save" icon under the article itself. When you save this information, the product is directly saved in a 'shopping' folder, which simplifies and speeds up the shopping experience.
That's all! All you need to know about the shopping feature.
If you want to set up the purchase feature for your Instagram accounts, you can check out this article – How to set up purchases on Instagram, which covers all the steps to follow to be approved.
